Good news and bad news at my oncologist today. Good news: All - TopicsExpress

Good news and bad news at my oncologist today. Good news: All of my liver counts were down tremendously from last week! Theyre still high, but not near as scary! The only one that had gone up a little was my bilirubin. So, if youve seen me lately and thought I looked a little yellow, thats why. Well just continue to watch and monitor it. Bad News: My other counts dropped tremendously as well. My white and red blood cells are at the lowest theyve ever been before. One of them was 0.1 and the other 0.7. So, I was directed to stay home and take it easy this weekend. Dont be around a lot of people. Dont start some big project at home. Hopefully, my numbers will come up just enough to do a half dose treatment on Monday and then, to help keep my red blood cell counts up, I will get an injection during treatment, and then get more syringes of neupogen for my white blood cells to give to myself at home for several days after treatment. These are the same shots they gave me in the hospital a few weeks ago and they helped a lot. Since this new chemo is showing that it is working really well, at least in my liver, we will start doing these shots after every treatment so that I can continue to take this chemo once a week. The other bad news that goes along with these shots, is that the one that Ill get while Im there for treatment, is EXTREMELY expensive! Ugh! We have been slammed in the past month with medical bills because of my surgery, ER visit, and hospital stay on top of what we already have to pay TCI every time Im there. So now we have the added enjoyment of paying for this injection which is beyond ridiculous. Im so sick of medical bills! Oh, we did get some really good news the other day...someone (who Ill keep anonymous) blessed us with a very much appreciated gift of having their house cleaner come to our house once a week to clean ours at no cost to us! Wow! This was such a huge blessing! This family has continuously helped us out with meals and gift cards and several other things over the past year and a half, but they really wanted to find a way to continually help us in a way that assists us all the time. Ok, I finished reading Matthew in my new Bible and now feel refreshed and in complete awe of Jesus and his sacrifice. I would like recommendations of which book to read next. I want it to be inspiring and help me keep a clear head and not get drug down so much. So, what are some of your favorites? What inspires you the most? And maybe include why. Thank you all for your continued prayers. I hope everyone has a blessed weekend!
