Good news on the public transport issue - a message from Councillor Martin Ford: Those at recent Community Association meetings will know that the possibility of securing an improved bus service for Kingseat was being pursued on several fronts. Approaches had been made to commercial operators regarding diverting buses off the A947 to serve Kingseat. The Council had invited tenders for a dial-a-bus service, in line with positive responses from residents to the Councils transport survey before the summer. The deadline for submitting tenders to run a dial-a-bus service has now passed. Unfortunately no bids were received. However, while operators had been unprepared to divert their commercial services via Kingseat, Stagecoach have had a very welcome change of heart. The 235 service (4 return trips per day between Oldmeldrum and Dyce Asda via Newmachar) was introduced in July but is not attracting many passengers. Stagecoach have now decided to run this service via Kingseat Monday to Friday and have registered the route change which will take effect from 2 December. The timetable is below. This revised 235 service will still be a commercial operation by Stagecoach. Its continuation is going to depend on how well it is used.
