Gordon lays blame on registrar Chairman of the Integrity - TopicsExpress

Gordon lays blame on registrar Chairman of the Integrity Commission Ken Gordon said yesterday letters relating to complaints filed are within the registrar’s province, not his. “This is a matter that has been dealt with between the Attorney General and the registrar,” Gordon said yesterday. He said while the Attorney General’s letter was addressed to him, all complaints are dealt with through the process with the registrar, who has a whole department set up to do this. “A day or two before his (Ramlogan) letter was received, our commission met on a reply which had been prepared by the registrar. So that you really should be speaking to the registrar,” he said. “The Attorney General seeks to draw me into something for which I sit on, as a member of the commission, but do not get directly involved in what the registrar is processing. So you should be speaking to the registrar, who is the person who responded to the Attorney General to explain what had happened. “I will not respond because as far as I am concerned, it is a straightforward matter and it is very clear what has happened. You should speak to the registrar who would let you know precisely what the position of the Integrity in Public Life Act is on replies and how these things are dealt with,” Gordon stated.
