Got Blues Pills on double-disc vinyl yesterday, and boy is it a gorgeous album! I was initially attracted to the group by their album cover artwork (no, you cant fully judge something by its cover, but an eye-catching cover sure does help), and checked them out on Spotify. After listening to two songs I immediately ordered their record from their label, Nuclear Blast Records. Its a strange home for this group, as Nuclear Blast has primarily been a HEAVY metal label, but this is a very soulful, heavy blues-rock group. Anyway, artwork like this is seldom seen in the music biz these days, and I love the fact that it comes with a fold-out poster of the album artwork, just like they used to do on occasion before the days of cassettes and compact discs!
