Got to take it low impact this morning, which was much needed, but my upper body! YIKES! These are all pretty simple to do. Give them a try! The lat pull down. If you dont have a band, try it without, just make sure to SQUEEZE and create your own resistance. The hip up turn over isnt as complex as it looks. You lift your hip, rotate into a plank, curl the opposite hamstring, and then turn back over. The key is to control the movement and pull your shoulders away from your ears, engaging your core and back. The Pike Ups dont need to be high. Engage your core and use your lower abs to lift your hips (which lifts your legs) up. Land with your knees slightly bent so they are like springs. As you keep trying this, try to go a little higher. The key is to shift all of your weight to the upper body as you use your core to lift your hips. The X at the end was the first time Ive ever caught this on video! Just a proud moment I had to share. I attempted it in class yesterday (so there was someone to call 911 if I landed on my head ;) ) and I did it! I didnt think that was something I could do! YAY FOR SMALL SUCCESSES!!!
