Government Meeting With the Fulani Community Nasarawa State Government has said that the issue of peace and security of lives and property should be the responsibility of all people not just the security operatives. Urging all communities and individuals to see peace as necessary and of the utmost importance. His Excellency Umaru Tanko Almakura made this known when he hosted the Fulani Community for meeting at the Government House Lafia, where he urged all ethnic nationalities in the state to encourage the promoting of harmonious co-existence in all their places of residence. Gov. Almakura said that it was this that made the state government resolve to always convene exclusive meeting with all indigenous ethnic groups as an avenue for them to say their own problems and solutions to peaceful co-existence with other tribes , as was done with the Tiv Community recently. This approach he said would bring about holistic participatory tailor solutions to the lingering crisis within communities. He appreciated the efforts of the security agencies towards curtailing security challenges in the state , Governor Almakura affirmed that the state government will not condone any act of insurgency or militancy from any group or tribe. On ways to avert future clashes between Fulani herdsmen and farmers, the governor suggested the need to have in place a grazing reserve, which would go along way in helping solve the age old problem. After the closed-door session the Secretary the Miyati Allah ,Muhammed Hussaini who addressed the press said they appreciated the efforts the state government had made in tackling security and would work towards peace by equally ensuring Fulani Cooperation towards the safe return of displaced Tiv Communities to their communities.
