Governor Bobby Jindal and a small army of state and local - TopicsExpress

Governor Bobby Jindal and a small army of state and local officials converged on Monroe s Garden District today, surveying damages caused by Mondays tornado force storm. The Governor and other officials have pledged state support to help residents recover quickly. Monroe s Tanglewood community was equally devastated, yet only a lone police juror, Pat Moore was almost single handedly trying to help. Tanglewood residents had to fend for themselves without State Department of Transportation crews, public workers, Red Cross, and other assistance given to the Garden District residents. One home in the Garden District had nine DOTD trucks, city workers and others cutting a large tree which fell on a home. In contrast, a man in Tanglewood who had a tree crush his house and car, sweated alone with only a handsaw and no help. Neighbors report seeing a sheriff deputy in the area who was guarding a store against possible looters. Residents complimented the governors concern for the Guardian District, which they say is deserved, but we are people, too!
