Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State has said his government is focusing on vocational and technical education as part of measures to solve unemployment problem in the country. The governor spoke on Saturday while presenting a chque for N30,000,000 to Saint John’s Vocational and Technical Institute, Neni to complete ongoing building projects. The governor also said the gesture was a fulfillment of his earlier promise to the school noted that such institutes were fundamental in training of the required manpower that would drive the economy. He urged the school management to accelerate work on the project as government was ready to do more to ensure its early completion. The Catholic Bishop of Awka, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor while thanking the Governor for the support explained that the school was a unique institute that equip youths to be self reliant and productive. B Ezeokafor observed that the Obi administration has continued to work for the common good of the people, stressing that continuity was vital in extremely good governance in the State.
