Grade 1 and Grade 2 parents, please read. This is an elaboration of what parents may have already been informed about as they enrolled their children. Our experience in the past years have taught us that letting students purchase their school supplies from outside presents challenges in the students learning and in classroom management. Students tend to compare their supplies with those of others and then become unhappy - worse, get upset --when the others are perceived to be more attractive and desirable than theirs. Differences in supplies thus distract the students and keep them from focusing on their lessons or work tasks. To minimize this distraction in the classroom, Ingenium will be requiring the parents to simply purchase the materials from the school so that the students will be using the same types of pencils, crayons, erasers, glue, scissors, etc. Consequently, parents will not need to provide any other materials other than the childrens grooming kit. The materials purchased from the school will be made available to the children in the classroom. For those who may have already purchased school materials such as those mentioned above, please keep them for the students to use at home. It is important that the students have materials that they can use to practice what they learn in school and to exercise their creativity. The cost of the supplies kit ranges from P800 to P850 for Grades 1 & 2, respectively. They can be paid for together with the books which will be available starting tomorrow.
