Great Spark Love David your stories inspire me! They make me smile, laugh, and cry! I just found this page recently and I am so happy I did! I have my own spark story and although small in comparison to others it still warmed my heart One of the most awesome things about it (to me) is it happened just days before I found your page! First a little about me I am a recovering addict... I have been clean almost 6 years. As a result of my addiction I had to give custody of my twin sons to their father and move to another city 2 hours away to enter a long term rehab facility... it was worth it! Im clean now! And not dead... but still heartbreaking at times because I have missed a great deal of my sons childhood.. and they still have anger issues with me because I left... I have no car and although I am saving slowly to buy one it hasnt happened yet... as a result I see them maybe four times a year After getting clean I ended up homeless for a while until I could get some ground under my feet, find a job, save money, and get an apartment... BUT I DID IT! I am now working two jobs and I have a small studio apartment close to a shopping mall and one of my jobs which is perfect since I walk most places. Now for my spark I was walking to the shopping mall to get quarters so I could wash clothes. as I stepped inside the mall and shook off the cold my eyes met a lady sitting on a bench... she smiled at me... I smiled back and said man its cold! To which she replied yes it is... try being homeless... I said baby I know exactly how you feel... I have been homeless myself. I walked to get the quarters and as I walked back through she was still there... I reached in my pocket... pulled out two dollars and said here you go honey... go get yourself a cup of coffee... her eyes were huge as she looked from the money to me and she hesitated... I said please take it... she smiled the biggest smile! The look on her face was priceless! And she said God bless you...I said no honey God bless you... and continued my walk back home... like I said small... but it made me happy... keep posting... you give me great ideas! :-)
