Great day with great friends for an amazing cause and we have - TopicsExpress

Great day with great friends for an amazing cause and we have raised in excess of £600. Unfortunately Mark Hewitt was taken sick last night and after a worrying few hours we managed to rope in Martin Jellis. We started off getting dropped at Milton Keynes then after doing a treasure hunt we headed towards the train station. We encountered a wrestler who was unwilling to help even after Greg Markham was patting his chest lol. Upon arrival at the train staton we were turned away immediately by train staff who were very rude especially the grumpy old woman. We headed out side where we managed to blag a ride in the back of a transit van with some ladies who play rugby :0). Tony crook the amazing driver of the transit van took us to the Newport Pagnel services, this as it happened was a massive stroke of luck because not only were we on our way, but this led us to our next ride. We crossed the motorway services from South bound to North and attempted to blag a ride with a copper ( he was having none of it). so we ran outside and started to hitch a lift when we saw an un expecting man (Phil) just waking up for a snooze in his 9 seater transit. We ran over but as he couldnt close and lock the door fast enough after seeing the site of 4 masked men running towards him he was forced to talk to us lol. After a brief discussion he agreed to drop us at leamington spa (the next check point). That was it we were well on our way again and in an amazing time. Top bloke he dropped us right at the check point and after a few pics we were about to part ways when he offered to drop us back to Birmingham, we couldnt believe our luck. We had managed to get an amazingly comfy ride almost all the way home and arrived back in Birmingham a little after 2:30. We had an amazing time we were all shocked at the ease of our journey. Thank you to all of the people who have donated money to help us and the charity with special thanks to Nicki Hewitt who has raised a large amount at work. We have learned along the way that the generosity of strangers is amazing, rail companys are tight arses and never trust a woman dressed as Santa. Lol Cant wait for next year
