Great story about having to overcome obstacles to complete the Open. I love hearing about how CrossFit changes peoples lives. It has changed mine for sure but to hear a story like this where it really CHANGES peoples lives and makes them better is so cool! games.crossfit/article/survivor-mentality 9 APRIL 14 WOD: AMRAP 20 min 50 Double Unders 20 Push Ups 50 Sit Ups 20 Strict Pull Ups I want to emphasize that this is the BEGINNING of our training cycle. We are starting here and BUILDING up over the course of the next year. There are a few things I want you to really focus on right now. 1) Virtuosity - Doing the common uncommonly well. Make each of your reps count. There is no good enough, there is only good. Make your muscle memory remember the difference between a good rep and a good enough rep. 2) Now is the time to slow down a bit in WODs and step up a level in terms of skill or weight. Remember though quality over quantity. Start to develop good habits. 3) Work on SKILLS in the warm up. This is the time to make your push ups perfect and work on form. This is the time to work on strict pull ups to increase strength. Be slow and deliberate with the movements to increase your skill levels. Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result - Remember this. If you do half a$$ reps you are only going to get half a$$ results. 3…2…1…GO GET EM!
