Greetings, I hope everyone has had a Happy New Year so far. This year I will again be the referee chair for both NJ and PA. The NJ State Championships will be held March 8 at I Play America in Freehold, NJ. They are trying to schedule a referee seminar for March 1. NJ will be paying IR’s $100 for the day and $50 for all other referees. If you need a room for the night please contact Master Vigneri. The PA State Championships will be held March 21 at the Coatesville Area HS in Coatesville, PA. A referee seminar hasn’t been scheduled yet, but I will keep you posted on future developments. PA will be paying IR’s $100 and $75 for all other referees. PA will not be supplying hotel accommodations for referees. Both tournaments are going to be using the Daedo PSS for sparring and the Poomsae Pro for poomsae scoring. Please keep checking the Hangastar system through the USAT for registration information. Please also note that all referees must have had a background check through the USAT prior to being allowed to participate in any USAT event. If you had your check done last year, it is still good until the end of this year. If you did not have one done last year, you MUST get it done prior to being selected for these tournaments.
