Greetings! Im new here, thank you for accepting me into the group. Ive been trying to comment on others work, but am unable to. Anyone know why? Here is a poem that Ive written recently. Ive began to dabble in written word poetry, and Im aware that it doesnt always work out as well in writing: Its shameful, the way you constantly neglect her Put her on the back burner for those loves of the month that never make it further Than your mothers driveway Never meeting the family. Because they all know that wifey Just carried your seed And Provided you with a legacy But that doesnt matter to you Because unless it benefits you it doesnt affect you, wont get a rise out of you, wont make a man out of you, you gawk at my words but theyre true Because you see her struggling to make a way for her family of two Thats 3 minus you. And still in your eyes theres an element of surprise when youre rubbing on her thighs and she says I love you And so not to break the moment, you say it back And she believes you. And its a shame because the games that you play affect those around you And you think its all about you But its not. Its about the child that you brought into this world and forgot. And every broken promise helps you dig your way into your own personal hell. Youre burying yourself deeper with every lie that you tell. And at the end of the day, others will suffer because of the things that you do, But the only one that will live with regrets is you.
