Greetings Tribe, It is with heavy heart that we report the recent passing of a young member of our community. If you knew her, you would have known her as Cara. In sadness, we acknowledge that this soul departed from us far too young for our understanding, and in a manner that shakes our community to its core. It is in remembrance and love and compassion that we will gather under our roof tonight (Thursday, July 24th, 7 - 9PM) to celebrate this life with song and stories in the highest spirit of community bonding. If you knew Cara, we encourage you to join us. We hope to have community resources on site from various local youth service groups to present their missions and goals, and perhaps even provide counseling for those in need. If not on site, we will ,at the very least, be prepared to direct folks to these services and organizations as needed. While we grieve this passing and celebrate this life, we also wish for this to be a catalyst for this community... A catalyst in reminding us that there are young women and men in our community that need to be seen, and there are young people in our community that need their voices heard. There is always a need in any community for mentors and role models to stand up and step forward in compassion, wisdom, and understanding. It is our hope that this also reminds us all that we are in this world together. Building an inclusive community where we are all seen and heard and know that we belong goes a long way towards healing wounds, re-uniting us, and moving us forward in a brighter light and bolder purpose.
