Ground zero for the war against the Middle Class is in Lexington, - TopicsExpress

Ground zero for the war against the Middle Class is in Lexington, Kentucky, and it is being fought by employees of a greedy military contractor named AGM hailing from Arizona. Since taking over the sub-contract from Lockeed Martin after L-3 Communications lost their bid, they have disrespected, lied to, and walked all over their Kentucky employees. It got so bad that Republicans, Independents, and Democrats alike voted to Unionize two years ago. They have been hit with labor violation after labor violation and yet they still keep getting rewarded with contract renewals. This year they had the nerve to lie once again and tell their employees that the federal government is requiring them to reduce their pay by up to 30% on top of all of their other transgressions. Yet no other federal contractor in this country has said a word about mass wage reductions or job reclassifications. One of the labor violations they were fined for was failure to provide the documentation from the federal government confirming the wage reductions originated with them. They have not submitted said paperwork because it does not exist. The sole purpose for reducing employee wages is to pad the profits of a company already making millions. . .I have never personally been a member of a union, although my father was a member of a trucking union. Although I havent been the number one fan of any of the companies I worked for over the years, I have never been moved to such a point that I would try to Unionize my place of employment. Most companies these days have the sense to know that there are lines you do not cross. Most. In fact, the reason a union was voted in at Bluegrass Station was an extreme failure of leadership from the top. My husband has worked there for over 8 years and had always loved his job. That all changed when AGM moved in. You might ask why he just doesnt quit if he thinks he is being treated unfairly, but you would be missing the point. We all have seen Middle Class jobs keep disappearing only to be replaced with jobs that could never give our children the chance to live the American Dream. Hope isnt just flickering out for future generations, it is bleeding out. At the same time we see corporate profits that seem to know no limits. My husbands union is making a stand. . . even with so much to lose because it is Right. Stand for something. Stand for Hope. Share this status. Call your congressman. Call the press and push for some investigative journalism if that still exists. Dont make this just our fight. Make this your fight. Help us win this battle for the American Dream.
