Grrr. At precisely 5:05 this morning, the smoke detector alarm went off in the living room. I stopped the racket (to a chorus of complaining kids), and searched high and low for smoke. Back to bed and at 5:20 AM the damned thing goes off again. I shut off the furnace, wandered around looking for any source of carbon monoxide or smoke, and found nothing. Now, the smoke detector in my basement office is going off every 15 minutes. Furnace off, no apparent source of smoke. What a pain! I am not sure if I should be evacuating the house, or putting up with it. Two different smoke detectors, on different stories of the house.... Any suggestions welcome
