HALIMA UMAR GOMBI HAVE THIS STUFF FOR US: CHANGE Change is a major and most important feature of every dynamic and democratic society. For a society to bear this name, there must be frequent change of those in the leadership of that society so as to effectively utilized the available human resources and for the power to be revolving around general capable and constitutionally mandated citizens not with a club or some few self exonerated circle of people that make the leadership there hereditary property to share and rotate within their circle even when the individual/ group happens to be the choice of the masses; which is all about the concept of democracy and democratic governance, is not given the opportunity to attain such position. Taking into cognizance, those in power having the control of the machineries of government, at their disposal apply all forms political maneuver to subject such individuals/group to sordid experiences in order to maintain the status-quo. This could also mean to amount to even breaking the trust bestowed upon them no matter what that may cause them, even if it means sacrificing the lives of the masses that voted them into power to achieve their selfish objectives. This disposition of contemptuous subjugation of any prospective individual/group to attain such a leadership role, has become the gimmicks of our present day politics and so called democratic governance/style which in the end are forlorn. Oh Allah, bestowed upon this nation leaders whom will not compromise the interest of the masses, but rather place it as their top most priority. God, we seek your intervention to change this existing kind of leadership for a better, for our lives and properties have been relegated to nothing more than the mere lives of ants to be crushed at any point in time. God, YOU are the creator of all humans and have placed much honour and dignity to it, as you stated through the words of your beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) that; “it is easier in the sight of Allah to destroy both the heaven and the earth than to destroy a single life of an innocent individual” as you equally prescribe a serious punishment to anyone that contravenes your command, and acted in contempt. Oh Allah You have forbidden oppression to Yourself and made it forbidden among your servants may you destroy he, who out of pride and thoughts of acquiring strength and power to oppress the weak and the voiceless. God, their hearts have been seared by the toxic of power, the children whom we (mothers) bore in our wombs and labored for their birth, are subjected political bargain to achieve a mission. God, nothing in the universe is without your knowledge, and beyond your power, we intercede with you, regardless of our shortcomings to bring an end this ruthless kind of leadership.
