Teachers To Get 10% Back On School Supplies At Walmart In a first for Walmart, the giant retailer will give teachers a 10 percent rebate on purchases they make for their classrooms. Teachers who shop in stores July 25 through July 31 will be eligible for the rebate on an estimated 15,000 products -- everything from pencils and notebooks to classroom posters. The rebate will come in the form of an electronic Walmart gift card. Teachers across the country are eligible for the rebate program, which was announced Monday. We know teachers are spending, on average, $1,000, on their classrooms -- about $500 of their own money and thats just too much, Walmart spokeswoman Molly Blakeman said. To claim the rebate, teachers will be asked to register online by Aug. 15. Along with receipt transaction codes, teachers must provide school contact information. Teachers will get their electronic gift cards within 14 days of submitting their receipts.
