HERE ARE YOUR VETERAN PROGRAMS FOR ATHENS: Tanner High School’s Veterans Day Program is on Thursday, November 7th. They will be serving breakfast in the library beginning at 8:15 am and the program will be in the new gym beginning at 9:00 am. East Limestone High School Support Our Soldiers (SOS) Veterans Day program is Friday, November 8. Well serve breakfast for the veterans at 8:30 and the show will start at 9. Athens High School Veterans Day program will be November 8th at 9AM in the new gym. West Limestone High School Veterans Day program will be on Friday, November 8th at 1:30 in the new gym. East Limestone High School Support Our Soldiers (SOS) Veterans Day program is Friday, November 8. Well serve breakfast for the veterans at 8:30 and the show will start at 9. Athens Veterans Day Parade Nov 9 at 11:00 AM. Prizes will be awarded for best overall and most patriotic entry. The same route as the annual Christmas Parade will be used. Floats and entries will line up at Athens High School. Grand Marshalls this year will be honoring Ms. Alice Rogers, WWII Cadet Nurse; Ms. Carmen Montgomery, WWII Army Nurse Corps and Ms. Louise Steele of DAR will be the honorary Grand Marshall. Ardmore Veterans Day Ceremony and Stew Nov 11 at 11:00 AM - Ardmore Veterans Organization will hold their annual Veterans Day Ceremony and chicken stew. Stocking for Soldiers - East Limestone School Support Our Soldiers (S.O.S) is sponsoring this year’s Christmas drive benefitting soldiers stationed in Afghanistan. You can help by sponsoring a box! Each box should contain two stockings stuffed with re-quested items and two notes or Christmas cards (one per stocking) for the soldier who receives it. Each flat-rate shipping box costs $15 to ship overseas.
