HOME REPAIR SCAM - Please take note! On Wednesday (5/21/14) afternoon, a borough resident was the victim of a Home Repair Scam and suffered a loss of money. Two white males approached the residence at approximately 3:00 PM - to inspect the property for the County and to make some repairs that involved wiring and they would not charge much for the repairs. When they were done with the repairs, they asked for payment. The victim went to another portion of the home to get the money and one of the males followed. The 2nd male was able to steal more money from the victim. The males are described as white, about 58 tall, average builds and were wearing white clothing. One of the males had an unknown tattoo on his neck. They were driving an older (1997-2003) white Ford F-150 Pick-up truck-regular cab, with a white painted bed cap; but no license plate was seen or observed. We urge everyone, that unless you have an appointment with a repair person, DO NOT LET ANYONE INTO YOUR HOME! The Borough has an ordinance that persons soliciting (for any reason) must have a permit - and they must carry it with them. Dial 911 and call us immediately and let us check on the individuals to ensure they are legitimate. WHEN IN DOUBT - CALL US OUT! DIAL 911
