HOW TO USE YOUR SAFE SKINS VEGETABLE SLICER Safe Skins Vegetable Slicer is one of the best kitchen accessories in terms of its performance and capabilities. It is easy to use and relatively CHEAP. However, the Safe Skin Vegetable Cutter can also be a bit dangerous if not used as instructed. Its blades are laser sharp so you really must be careful when using it. The sharp blades are designed to slice vegetables at optimum speed and will do the same to your fingers if used improperly. The following is a simple guideline on how to carefully use the Safe Skin Vegetable Slicer for maximum results. STEP 1 The first step is to clean the vegetables you are preparing. No one wants to mindfully eat dirt and neither do your laser sharp blades. You don’t want the exterior dirt of the vegetables to have contact with the inner parts of the Slicer. It will certainly prolong the sharpness of the blades if you take a little extra care before slicing and ensure that no dirt finds it way into your salad too. STEP 2 Using Carrots or Zucchini’s as the example, carefully peel around about 2/3. As you do this, use the peels for protection. Basically, the peels reduce the slippery level of your hand and thus reducing chances of you being cut. You should use the special cap that comes with the cutter to protect yourself. Put this cap on the pushing end. The cap is also important as it gives you an edge in cutting the vegetables at a fast rate. If on the other hand you have misplaced the cap, you can opt to use a fork or a spoon as a guide when cutting. STEP 3 Select the side of the Safe Skins Vegetable Slicer that you will use. One side is used if you want to get thick ‘pasta’ while the other side will give you narrow ‘pasta’. This procedure depends on two things: your preferences and what you are cooking. STEP 4 Once you are done with the above procedure, slowly slide the zucchini into the opening of the cutter and start turning the vegetable (a similar procedure with a pencil and a sharpener). As you turn the zucchini or carrot, you will see the narrow spiral vegetable ‘pasta’from the other side. It is recommended that you stop the rotation as soon as the unpeeled part is reached. You should NOT continue with the rotation after this point as this could be putting your fingers at risk. Happy Slicing!
