Had members of the American Atheist [AA] organization immediately reported the disappearance of Madalyn Murray OHair, her son Jon and granddaughter Robin along with $600, 000 of American Atheist funds, they might well be alive today. The American Atheists had wrongly jumped to the conclusion the Murray-OHairs had stolen the AA funds and skipped the country; despite the fact they had left their passports at home and dogs! Madalyn, leaving her beloved dogs behind should have been the biggest clue to something being up. Their disappearance wasnt reported for a year after they went missing. Madalyn, Jon and Robin did not steal the American Atheist money.They were kidnapped and held for thirty days or more at a motel; during this time the cash was exchanged for gold coins. The remains of Madalyn, Jon and Robin were discovered some years later, they had been killed and dismembered before being thrown into a shallow grave. No person has ever been successfully convicted of their murders. David Waters and an accomplice were found guilty of kidnap and extortion, but never murder. Madalyn, her son and granddaughter were failed by everybody: Family member Bill Murray, law enforcement and their very own fellow atheists.
