Happy 45th Anniversary to my parents. The picture on my profile represents how I have seen them my entire life and I am thankful to them for that. They have shown me what a healthy, loving, supportive relationship should look like. They have always tried their very best to make my sister and I into productive members of society and although I have my days when I wonder, I think they succeeded. I used to hate it when my dad would wake us up early on the weekends to mow the lawn, pick vegetables, clean the house, etc etc. but every time someone compliments me on my stellar work ethic (which has been often) I know I have my dad to thank for it. Growing up, Im sure many of you would say Mr. Day was a strict teacher and someone who may have seemed to have a gruff exterior. I have had the pleasure of realizing as I have grown and matured that he is one of the kindest individuals on the face of the earth. He would literally give the coat off his back to help friend, family or stranger. My mother is the same and in addition to that, I have never heard her say a bad word about anyone. She always sees the good in people and if there is a silver lining to be seen in something, my mother will see it and encourage anyone around to see it also. She is a gentle person who doesnt like to hurt anyone or anything. We used to tease her because she called all the little bugs around the house little buddy. I often strive to be as compassionate to people as she is but Im not sure anyone can match her. I love you both and words can never express how much I value all of the life lessons you have taught me and continue to teach me daily. See you soon.
