Happy 88th birthday Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium. Opened 1st April 1926. We are proud of u. Ugandans hve always gathered in yo premises to be entertained. We hve used yo grounds to qualify for 1962, 1968, 1974, 1976 & 1978 AFCON. We started WC qualifier campaign for Argentina 1978, hosted the newly baptised CECAFA Challenge Cup in 1973, as well as a record all-Uganda CECAFA finals in 2000. Thx 4 hosting Bika Cup, and Masaza Cup finals, and netball too, in which N.I.C Netball club hve just been crowned regional queens 4 the 15th time, using u as a training base. We are sorry that u were locked up by URA recently 4 unpaid bills and that u were scrapped of the CAF & FIFA list 4 not being up to international standards. Your soccer big sons KCCA FC hve a hone in Phillip Omondi Stadium, Express are still housed in Wankulukuku with no clear signs of developing their Kanyanya land into a stadium, while SC Villa hve failed to negotiate a lease renewal for Villa Park, bcoz their landlords Ug Railways are only interested in a 3months renewable contract at a cost of 2.1millions! Your colleague Namboole has still failed to grant us the chance 2 AFCON, something u did 5times! Besides she is too costly 4 our poor soccer. Masaka recreation, mbale municpal, Kakyeeka stadium, Pece stadium, and Bugembe stadium are in sorry state, they cant help u much. Many clubs which u used to host, both in fball and netball are no more: Coffee Mkting board fball and netball, BOU, CMB, UG Railways, LMB, etc. Congs u r still surviving though u r older that them all. Happy Birthday
