Happy Saturday! Today, I am demonstrating yet another plank/push-up variation. Remember, full push-ups are a development from plank. Once you have a nice solid and stable plank position, push-ups are doable. This variation begins with a stretch and walk-out to the plank. I also include an oblique twist/back stretch, which adds to the challenge of the exercise. If at this point the push-up is too difficult in the full plank position, you may drop the knees to a princess push-up. However, continue to work to strengthen the plank. You should have no discomfort in the lower spine. If you do, that is an indication that you have lost the navel to spine connection. Always, always, ALWAYS(I cannot stress this enough), maintain that connection, particularly in plank. There is nothing more painful for me to see than a dipped lower back on someone doing plank. Posture and alignment are key to a perfect plank. This is a fantastic active rest exercise or addition to any HIIT workout. Try for 10 sets, or 20 pushups! Please comment or message with questions; I love the feedback. Thank you for viewing and sharing... #fitnessiscontagious
