Happy Thursday!! Day 81!! Today, if I had to describe myself in one word, it would be STUBBORN. I got home from work around 3pm. I had a game plan that I would get my 11 miles in by 5pm. So, I set out on my run. The clouds were a little dark but nothing that I was too concerned about so I had just approached the 2 mile mark when out of nowhere lightning just started striking in every direction. It was the closest lightning has ever been so it freaked me out. I knew I had about a 1/4 of mile to get home and I knew I had less than 10 min before I was doomed. I ran as fast as I could at that moment. And believe me, it didnt feel fast enough. I no sooner opened my front door and shut it when the sky opened up and the storm got real nasty. God got me home safely! At this point, I was really frustrated because I still had 9 more miles to run. To some, they will call me crazy, obsessed, addicted, but I like the word dedicated better. So, I had to wait. By this time, it was dinner time so I ate. I waited 30 minutes to digest and then I decided to head back out. It was the wettest, rainiest, best, most fun 9 miles in a long time. I didnt mind getting soaked. I was just happy I was running. So as the rain increased, so did my pace. I was extremely proud at the end. I felt this amazing accomplishment. Why? Because I never gave up hope about my run. I may not have had the perfectly planned run, but it happened. Progress update: 2 months and 3 weeks ago, I ran 11 miles in 2:06. Tonight, I ran my 11 miles in 1:45:06. That is a 21 minute difference. :)
