Happy Wednesday, Friends! Be prepared to leave your prison in a rush Genesis 41:14 “Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh.” Our text indicates that they brought Joseph “hastily out of the dungeon.” This was after 14 years of living under conditions of betrayal, false accusations, and being forgotten by the butler whose dream he interpreted and who had promised to mention him to Pharaoh. Most of us would have given up on our dream by then and tossed the idea of a better future in the bin called lost cause. Yet, Joseph continued to serve the warder with distinction, remained in the right frame of mind and was able to get ready quickly to assume his new duties as Prime Minister of Egypt. Are you prepared for the next level after prison life? Often we become so mired in the struggle, lost in the heaviness of our harsh reality that we forget to prepare ourselves appropriately for a sudden exit, when opportunity beckons. Well, I’d like to encourage you to continue to serve faithfully in what ever state you are in at the present. But get the suit ready, iron that little black dress, keep the soap and toiletry close by, your benefactor is about to commute your sentence. Sharpen your skills, develop your mind, put on a new attitude; the promotion will require a total makeover and your transformation must take place quickly. Discard the prison mentality; cleanse your self of the dungeon’s dirt and grime because in an instant you will be called to take up your rightful place at the top. The word of God says in Deuteronomy 28:13 “The LORD will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.” Your destiny has located you suddenly and the change entails a fresh, clean smell, the proper attire and a new protocol. In one brief moment the long years of unspeakable trauma and loss will have been replaced with the realization of a long held dream. Child of God, you must be prepared to leave your prison in a rush. God bless you and much love!
