Happy gloomy Saturday, everyone! Saturdays are up there for my favorite workouts, because theyre what Ive dubbed Functional Performance days. The goal is to engage the entire body in an athletic sense, and doing so lets you be creative. Some weeks its as simple as going on an extended hike on a mountain trail, other weeks youre breaking out the Agility Ladder, and other weeks still youre doing something like the following: Warm Up 1 Mile Run (Maintain Zone 2 Pace) ::REPEAT THE FOLLOWING SET 3 TIMES:: ----------------------------------------------------- 3 Rope Climbs (Must touch top of the rope) 8 Single Leg Broad Jumps Per Leg 10 Wall Ball Shots (Using a 25lb Medicine Ball) Bear Crawl 50 Yards Reverse Bear Crawl 50 Yards ----------------------------------------------------- ::END OF SET:: 50 Burpees (Full burpees...chest touches the floor, hands and body fully extended with feet off the floor.) 1 Mile Run (Maintain Zone 1 Pace) 20 minute deep tissue stretching.
