Happy thanksgiving to all of my American friends out - TopicsExpress

Happy thanksgiving to all of my American friends out there! Today is my 23rd birthday, and I am sitting here at the infusion clinic getting some birthday fluids (okay, it may just be ordinary Hartmanns solution, but its a special day, so they get a special name!) My favorite nurse, Jess, has spoilt me once again! She is off sick today, and made sure that her gift got to me! She is such a sweetheart, and I feel so loved and blessed to be cared for by such a wonderful nurse. After this, I have an EEG at another hospital. Ive made sure to wear my new special birthday Converse for good luck! The reason for the EEG is to look for seizure activity. I saw my neurologist earlier in the week, and had what she believes is an absence seizure whilst I was sitting in her office. I suppose it was good for her to see in person, and I also sent her the videos that we have recorded at home for her to keep on file. The other interesting points of the appointment came up when we were reviewing my recent blood tests and my CT scan of my spine, My red blood count is quite high, and my magnesium levels are super low again (hooray -.-) so when we repeat my bloods, if the levels are still off, I will have to see a hematologist. The CT also showed a huge cyst (I cant remember the full name of it, sorry!) its in my right sinus, and takes up 90% of the room in there! She has referred me back to my ENT doctor to see what he wants to do. She said that 99% of the time, no surgical intervention is needed, so crossing fingers that nothing will need to be done! And now for the most exciting anomaly that was found. I must admit, I had a good giggle when she mentioned this. Apparently, I fractured my spine sometime within the last 6-12 months. My neurologist was so mad at me for not telling her, and was in disbelief that I didnt know that I had sustained such an injury! We are still trying to work out when it could have happened! Ive been told that I need to get certain X-rays to check my spinal stability, need a new dexa scan and my bone health will be addressed by my rheumatologist. She also booked me in for a brain CT and more nerve tests. Anyway, enough about me, how are you all going? Ive attached some pictures from my day so far. Praying youre all well xx
