Hare Krishna, We are happy to inform you that H.G Akrura Dasa (from Vancouver) will give a seminar on the Teachings of Narada Muni from Srimad Bhagavatam. The seminar starts from the 04th September to 08th September 2014, at the temple hall from 7.30pm to 8.30pm, followed by maha prasadam for all. A short Bio on Akrura prabhu through his own words...... My father, HG Jayananda Das (Shri Jai Prakash Kansal) joined Iskcon in 1979, in Delhi. I was very young at that time. He was born in Meerut. He worked as a Chemistry professor (Head of the Dept) in Muzaffarnagar. That is where I was born. This is the same district where Shuktal is located. Shuktal is the actual place where Sukadeva Goswami spoke the Srimad Bhagavatam to Parikshit Maharaj. We lived in Greater Kailash when my father came across his first Bhagavad Gita As it is. He read the whole book on the same night. He decided to retire from work and join Srila Prabhupadas mission. He became a full time preacher. In 1989 he committed to collect Rs. 2 Crores (Rs. 20 million) for the Glory of India project. In 1994 he completed his collection commitment and left his body. He was specially blessed by H.H. Gopal Krishna Goswami. My father used to conduct Bhagavat katha and Bhagavad Gita pandal programs. Guru Maharaj wants me to follow the footsteps of my father... Upon his instructions I try to preach Krishna Consciousness in Delhi area, Meerut area, West Indies countries, North America and wherever else I am sent by him. I had moved to Vancouver, Canada in 1987. I serve the local Temple here as a co president. I serve the Global Iskcon as a servant of the GBC. I visit India twice a year for the GBC meetings.
