Hau mitakuyapi! Ive read a post that had me wondering and pondering. I read that the lbst council doesnt support the kxl pipeline. That is great news. Then I found out that they are or was in negotiations with an electrical company. This electrical company told our council. This is a one time offer and you best take it. There will be no offer if you dont and will come through no matter what. Hmm i went to a meeting in rapid city. I found this out from someone off the rez. They knew more about what my tribe is doing. So I asked a council member on this issue and so did a few more people. They advised that they oppose the pipeline. We heard from one that they did support the pipeline. Another advised we were getting 2 wind turbines. In which will give the people free electricity and some money. Hmm another said what if kxl pipeline is giving money for these things. Their were verbal confirmations by these council members. So if were being lied to? Then come tell the people. We are traditional people who believe in our oral history. So if Its made by oral verification then this is what we know. So if your word isnt your bond then what are we to believe! So I went to researching myself on the kxl website. I found information like a programmatic agreement, the route of the transmission line, the amount of electricity going through these cables, and much more concerns on lower brule. If the literature is on kxl pipeline website then tell me how are we not supporting it. The pipeline will not be going through lower brule. But we will allow the power to these facilities to pump the oil through pipeline and power the man camps thatll be coming to maintain pipeline. Our neighboring tribes are the ones being effected. But after many spills, so will we. All domestic and wildlife will be effected. Farming lands will be destroyed. Our most sacred medicine water will be destroyed. We will be left with sickness and famine. Now is this a decision needed to be made by one council? Now if any leader in their right mind. would have asked the people and nation? Got some consultation on this issue. As we are apart of the oceti sakowin. Not a nation by itself. Instead we are always told it was best for the people. Well it may have been best decision for them but not for the people. Cuz this decision effected the whole dakota, nakota, and lakota nation. Along with many other nations. So if Im wrong and this was right decision. Then by all means Ill back away. But the grandfathers told me this in ceremony and to stand against this black snake coming. So as far as me backing off, that wont happen. If our leaders wanna enlighten us on this decision. Then by all means come to the march 30th meeting. Advise the nation of their decision. Their safety will be ensured and nothing will happen to them. Now for the ones supporting and saving their leaders. Ive heard a lot of derogatory statements made about the ones making a stand against our tribe and the black snake. They say we are bullies and we are prejudice people. Well heres to that statement. Through my 36 yrs of watching and hearing the people stand against decisions made by our council through those years. The people who stood were belittled and alot of defamation of character. These families were discredited and beat down til they had no more fight within them. so how are we bullies when the only bullies I knew were the councils families? I mean Ive seen these atrocities and witnessed our people go through this. The strategy of these people. To turn families and against families. Then comfort them after to get their support. Take from the people that are the main providers to keep them at bay. Make your own people grovel to them. Now how is that leadership? Yes its true the people voted them in. Well its the people who can take them out too. These leaders are our servants not the other way around. People have the power to do anything and its time for them to awaken that power. Utilize that power to ensure a better future!
