Have you seen them?? Baby ducklings trailing behind their mother?? Before getting involved with wildlife and specifically ducks, there are a few key points you should know! Ducks are better off with their mama. Ducklings rely heavily on their mothers for food, shelter and teachings. Unless the babies are truly abandoned or endangered, there is no reason to get involved. Raising ducklings is a tough job that the mama duck takes seriously. Slight intervention is key. If all the babies need is a boost up to conquer a curb - use a flat, sturdy service and help them up to their waiting mother. Most cities were not designed with ducks in mind. Reuniting mama with her ducklings is best. If the ducklings have become separated from their mother, remove the obstacles between them and experience the joy of a happy duck reunion. If you are unable to help or feel concerned, call your local animal control for assistance or us for advice! Ducks are a protected species. Unless you find an injured or endangered duck - let nature be nature and enjoy the show.
