He Will Send Signs John 1:29-34 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! He is the one I was talking about when I said, ‘A man is coming after me who is far greater than I am, for he existed long before me.’ I did not recognize him as the Messiah, but I have been baptizing with water so that he might be revealed to Israel.” Then John testified, “I saw the Holy Spirit descending like a dove from heaven and resting upon him. I didn’t know he was the one, but when God sent me to baptize with water, he told me, ‘The one on whom you see the Spirit descend and rest is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ I saw this happen to Jesus, so I testify that he is the Chosen One of God.” Jesus was prophesied about, spoken by God himself and messengers from God, like John the Baptist. There was a sign that God told John to watch for so John would know who the chosen one was. The one on whom you see the Spirit descend and rest is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit. God is the same today that he was in the time of Moses and the time of Jesus. He still speaks to his prophets through the Spirit. He still sends signs and wonders telling us of the times to come. Heres the kicker, are we listening and watching? The Bible is pretty clear on what it says, do not deceived that its just a book... Its The Book. God has told us what is to come and how we should live until then. I want to have the knowledge and wisdom to see the signs, to decern the truth from the enemies lies. Thats why I read the Bible everyday and study like I do, so I will gain the knowledge I need to see the signs, to live by the Spirit, and to serve the kingdom of God on earth. He, the Almighty God, will send signs, will we be watching?
