Heavy Horses cm.15x20 In spite of my love for the noble subject, I ignored the Year fo the Horse was coming, when I starded the carving of the work Im posting here, trusting the indulgence of the skillful fellow-Artists I see all around. I shall say Im using cheap chisels and x-acto type knives, my baren is an hard plastic brush wrapped in smooth fabric, and the wood is from scrap: here a pair of obsolete kitchen tranchers, and a piece of plywood for the backdrop, that gaves lotta problems for the colors gradation. For paper, a good watercolor smooth light board ( Fabriano Artistico, easy to purchase everyhere in Italy) came quite fine at the end of a painful research. I have some sample of original japan paper that Im looking forward to try, as Im looking forwrad for good gatana knives and precious cherry wood...
