Hehehe.... This man brought back memories of my dad in those days of my tender age. I was immediately after him in the queue at Gertrudes Children Hospital. We both brought our little girls for medication. His daughter was called by the nurse but she was away in the playing ground making fun with other children. In fact, you would imagine the child wasnt sick. When he went to bring her from the playing ground, that is when the drama started. The girl ran around with him all places. It was like catch me if you can play. And when he finally got hold of her, in a soft voice i heard him pleading with his daughter, mummy pliz the nurse is calling youuuu, twende tumuone ndiyo uendelee kucheza, sawa? The girl weighed herself and immediately phew, off again she went. We were all shocked at how helpless the big bellied man was before his own daughter. By the way, it took him about 3 minutes to get hold of her again. All along, i was kept waiting with my sick girl sleeping on the reception couch, just wondering what kind of dads men of these days are. If the girl wasnt sick, why bring her to the hospital? That is why i dont like medical covers. With cash payments, you go to the hospital when and only when you are sick. My dad in those days, try to play such games with him, the first time he arrests you, i dont know. But thank God, if anything, my dad, Aduk Kanyondhoro as he is called, would never accompany a child to the hospital.
