Hello Everyone-- Sorry this update is coming so late--- as of now Iam sitting with a friend of ours at the Rescue Mission who will be entering the gates of heaven any time. He is a believer in Christ and we know that we will see him again--- prayers are needed for him as he is peaceful and for the most part resting but he wants to go home. As we saw him last night he was more alert and we had a chance for one on one prayer with him and we ended it with In the name of Jesus and he looked at us and said In Jesus Name. We know that Christ is the Healer and for that we praise His name --but we also know that Kevins life is in the hands of the Father and so we pray for his will to be done. Interestingly enough before we started the night out we felt led by the Holy Spirit that we were to ask anyone who needed prayer for healing to be able to step forward in our prayer circle---as you can see from our first stop we had a few step forward and we as a team and friends from the streets gathered around and laid hands on our friends and agreed together for healing- one was for healing of the kidneys, one friend has pancreatic cancer, one has a severe back issue and two needed prayer for their legs. It was a time that was un like any other time to say the least. Next at the Mission we again listened to the Holy Spirit and made that invitation available..... and as the first person stepped out of that circle and made their way to the center of the room---which may I add took ENORMOUS COURAGE---others soon followed. We again came together and surrounded our friends and took turns praying out loud again for that healing that needs to take place. One man also humbly prayed for God to keep him sober and straight--again what courage that took. After that is when we went to see our friend Kevin---and prayed for him as well. We have been doing Fridays for 3 years now and each Friday has been amazing--but there was something extra amazing about last night. Had a man come up to us in tears...... he talked about how he needed a pair of shoes--his were really raggedy as he put it....and he got a used pair from us and that meant SO much to him. He said he was amazed and touched how that God answered that prayer--and he received a coat as well from our bins. He really touched us and reminded us how a simple act of kindness can actually make a person realize that God is aware of them and cares about the smallest of things......made us so thankful for all of you who donate each and every week. So this update is shorter than the usual - we are asking you to pray for our friend Kevin as he is waiting to walk those streets of gold. Continue to pray for those who need healing ---not only physically but mentally and spiritually as well. Also remember to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit---be spirit led. Take time to spend quiet time with God and be teachable---be willing to see where God needs to correct you and stretch you.....and be obedient to do what God asks of you even when it stretches you, makes you feel vulnerable because thats when God is up to something and that my friends is when we see the supernatural happen- thats when being the body of Christ is amazing !!!!!! Thank you to everyone who donated this week and who has prayed for us God Bless you everyone---also this picture of the cross was taken under the bridge. We had a friend make these for our friends for Thanksgiving. We hung one up for those who sleep under that bridge and may it be a small reminder that wherever we are God is there with us!!!
