Hello Everyone, December 2nd is Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday is a global day dedicated to giving back. On Tuesday, December 2, 2014, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give. I am writing to ask you to give to the Monroe County Education Foundation. We support the public schools of Monroe County, located in rural southwestern Alabama. Our schools lack sufficient tax funding to meet the needs of their staff, teachers, and students so we help them out. Our biggest programs are the Teacher Resource Center which opened in September and the Buddies Not Bullies award which rewards students for positive character traits. We have several ways you can make a tax deductible donation to the foundation. 1. Visit monroe.k12.al.us, click on the directory tab, scroll down and click on Monroe County Education Foundation, click on the yellow Donate button. 2. Donate to the teacher resource at teacherresourcecenter.causevox/ 3. Buy a golf ball for the split-the-pot golf ball drop that will take place this Saturday. Up to 500 balls (however many we sell) will be dropped from a firetruck extension ladder (about 50 high). Balls landing in a golf cup split up to $5,000. Balls landing within a 2 circle split up to $1,250. Chances are $25 each. You can buy them online at tinyurl/MCEFGolfBallDrop. 4. Mail a donation to: MCEF, PO Box 424, Monroeville, AL 36461.
