Hello Everyone, Hope you had a fantastic weekend! Great job at the Veterans Exercises last Monday, the Crafts Fair Saturday and the football game Friday night and thank you again to everyone who helped the band get on and off the field and cheered for them as they passed in review! Times flying by for sure. Thank you to everyone who helped out or attended the crafts fair Saturday. Hats off to all of the parents behind the scenes who did an amazing job! Heres whats coming up in the week ahead: CITRUS ORDER DEADLINE MONDAY, NOV. 18th - If possible, please turn in payments with the order but if you havent collected to payments yet, at least turn in the order forms to make sure the citrus gets ordered for you. Cash or checks should be made payable to SHS Music. Monday, November 18th (red day) 1. Concert Band instruments in class (all week) 2. Tri-M Meeting after school (last chance to finalize everything to qualify for induction) 3. Recital folks should rehearse with Edi after school today - sign up is on the bulletin board Tuesday, November 19th (white day) 1. Band Officers Meeting after school (please plan to stay to help process citrus orders) 2. Concert Band Rehearsal 6:00-7:30 pm 3. Jazz Band Rehearsal 7:30-9:00 pm Wednesday, November 20th (early release day for the high school only) 1. Please have BOTH Concert Band and Marching Band instruments in class today 2. Solo and Small Ensemble Recital 7:00 pm in the auditorium - no charge for admission - please support the kids auditioning for senior districts if your schedule will allow, the recital should last about an hour. Thursday, November 21st 1. Fall Percussion and Colorguard Rehearsals 6:00-8:00 pm (please note 8:00 pm release time not 9:00 pm) 2. MUSIC LIBRARY PARTY - 6:00-8:00 pm students and parents are invited to meet in the band room to help get music sorted, filed etc...There will be party hats, party favors, food, music and fun! Saturday, November 23rd 1. Senior district auditions in North Andover - bus leaves at 8:30 am 2. Percussion Ensemble and Senior Colorguard rehearsals 9:00 am -1:00 pm (please report at 8:30 am for set up) Parents: we are looking for one more volunteer to make five gallons of Hot chocolate to be shared by the Beverly and Salem bands on Thanksgiving. Mrs. Dunning and Mrs. Napierkowski are each making 5 gallons but with 250 people we need a third volunteer. Please let Mrs. Napierkowski know if you are able to help us out. We have a five gallon jug and cups and it may be transported to the field on the truck. ALSO: Mrs. Coughlin and/or Mr. Copelas will be in touch regarding Percussion Ensemble - first $25.00 payment is now due. Carnegie Hall Concert Vouchers are now ready for purchase ($55.00 each). All non performers need a ticket. If you are planning on going to the concert (either on your own, with us or on the fan bus) and can purchase your ticket now, it would be greatly appreciated. Our next installment of ticket money is due December 1st. Vouchers will be traded for tickets when they arrive in February. Thank you for your assistance. (As usual, cash or checks payable to SHS Music) Carnegie Hall next installment is due December 5th $75.00 from all students and chaperones staying in the hotel with us.
