Hello Ms. Ogden, I’m contacting your regarding our Medical Assisting student Ms. Gloria Wilson, she is a Medical Assisting student looking for an opening to intern at your facility. I have attached the paperwork regarding the medical assisting preceptorship and externship. Keiser University is private, non-profit, SACS-accredited institution, and our rigorous online MA program is accredited through ABHES. The preceptorship consists of our student completing 40 clinical hours per month for 3 months (e.g. working 10 hours per week for 3 months) during which time the student will be working on acquiring the skills identified in the Skills Evaluation Sheets attached (you are only required to complete 70% of the skills identified and has the option to use an arm simulator for venipuncture). The preceptorship is followed by an externship where you would be able to work 40 hours per week for 2 months. Of course, this is all non-compensated work and we do carry liability insurance on all of our students. The student is currently scheduled to start her clinicals the week of November 25 2013; however if you would like to push the clinical date back for several week to accommodate her that is also very possible.
