Hello Peeps, Debra Dooley asked me to post for her today. Deb, Dave (her son) and Copper are at the machine shop getting their chain saw fixed so that they can get whack off the vine that is trying to destroy my lilac tree. I have decided to fly to Illinois to be with Debra my birthday week. My favorite flower, lilacs will be in bloom and Deb has a HUGE lilac tree. We will laugh and cry and work and bond like sistahs. I plan to go horseback riding with Deb & her riding buddies. This delay is good because it will give her time to get the nonsense out of the way - mounds of paperwork that has to be filled out after death. Deb and I talked about the two ways to deal with grief: Curl up in a ball and focus on the pain OR Reach out and let others love and support you while you grieve. We both are SO touched by the way you all have reached out to love us in this tough time. We are taking so much comfort from your posts. Deb and I are strong women used to taking care of our Village People and now its our turn to receive. Deb asked me to post this drawing which is her very favorite of all of Davids drawings. Its called The Open Cigar Box. David had a knack for taking the ordinary and making it extra ordinary. Thanks again for all your support... this village is an amazing place to live! We love you! Debra and Sandra - Your Village Chiefs or is it Chiefettes when they are girls?
