Hello Testing platform 1, 2! Read excerpts of an intercepted document!!! We provide a brief analysis of the risk those in the ‘Agenda 2020’ camp pose and how they could be neutralized. i) John Agyekum Kufour His decisions in the run up to the 2008 elections and the detrimental effect they had on our overall efforts in that election are trite knowledge. Out of power he does not pose the same risk but has adopted a new strategy of a combination of behind-the scenes maneuvers and the deployment of surrogates to hinder our efforts. From all indications his influence has waned within the NPP party because of the water-tight strategy to neutralize him in the party but he still has considerable appeal outside the party. Any effort to overtly attack him will not be well received by floating voters and may adversely affect NADAA’s chances in the general elections. Notwithstanding the dossier of corruption and other ‘unfavs’ arising out of his administration, his government’s record will be useful when it becomes necessary to tout our record of performance in the 2016 campaign. The other threat that Kufour poses is his capacity to dissuade major foreign governments from extending support to NADAA in the run-up to 2016. It is most like that he will be spoken to by these governments and other notable international bodies as a way of crosschecking or verifying information about NADAAs prospects in 2016 before any potential support for his bid. This requires a delicate operation to isolate him within the party while maintaining a semblance of respect and honour for him in the public domain. Kufour is the mastermind of the strategy to get many surrogates to enter the flagbearership contest. Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Addai Nimo, Joe Ghartey and Konadu Apraku were all planted in the race by him. The objective for this move is however different but much related to agenda 2020. You recall how Asamoah Boateng tried to infiltrate the Occupy Flagstaff House Demonstration as captured in the August 2nd, 2014 report. [The agenda 2020 team appreciates the wisdom in NADAA’s cousin orchestrating the Occupy Ghana group from a distance. The group’s alliance with IMANI Ghana is yet to gain the needed traction and attention. To this end AFAG must be encouraged to inject organizational skills, a major deficit, in both Occupy Ghana and the IMANI alliance. AFAG should continue to receive the monthly regular support which was institutionalized in mid 2012. AFAG must also be entreated to sit up and be more accountable to ensure value for money]. By Kufour’s calculation, Dr M. Bawumia poses a direct threat to the 2020 agenda even if they succeed in dislodging Akufo Addo. They perceive Bawumia as an upstart and an outsider who is being marketed to step into NADAA’s shoes in the event that he loses in 2016 or is unable for some reason to feature in the 2016 race. The plan therefore is to get several others to enter the race ahead of Bawumia and therefore gain more credibility which they can fall back on in case the aforementioned were to happen. In view of this we suggest the following measures to contain the Kufour threat. 1. Despite all that he is doing, we advise that no known NADAA close affiliate should between now and 2016 criticise or attack Kufour publicly and this be strictly enforced. All offenders of this rule must be publicly sanctioned. Ultimately, it is political power that NADAA seeks and that effort requires some short term sacrifices to be made even if it means dining with he devil. 2. All communicators and serial callers who are under our control must be advised not to attack Kufour in the media. 3. NADAA must seize every opportunity to publicly state his admiration and respect for Kufour. He must speak about the work that Kufour did for Ghana in the 8years that he was President without being soaked and drowned in the associated corruption and ‘unfaves’. He must also constantly remind Ghanaians about the enormous support and contribution he has received from Kufour in all his Presidential bids including this one. 4. Our press team must react swiftly to any reportage or commentary in the media about a rift between NADAA and Kufour. 5. On the international front more engagement with influential persons within international circles and lobbyists to interface directly with all relevant powers to convince them about the need to support NADAA must be undertaken. As we have already learned from some diplomats who have spoken to NADAA, there is an unwritten desire by these powers to continuously warm up to John Mahama -A subject which has been analysed in detail in the second part of this document. With this scenario on our hand, the last thing we need is an unchallenged discommendation from Kufour. Let me hasten to add that the Canadian Diplomats have proven to be useful allies so far.
