Host Church: Canyon Del Oro Baptist Church Tucson, AZ Scott and Vonda teach the vocal track at the National Worship Leader Conferences BACKGROUNDS -Vonda was the Vocal Director at Willow Creek Community Church, where Scott was also on staff for 14 years. They led the vocal track at the Willow Arts Conference for many years. - Scott and Vonda have taught private voice for a combined 40+ years, and their students have included BarlowGirl, Andrew Ripp and Mike Manning, of the Demi Lovato Band Scott is the Worship Pastor at Bent Tree Bible Fellowship in Carrollton, TX, where Vonda is also on staff as Executive Producer and Vocal Director Scott and Vonda have a passion for the local church, and a desire to equip singers to reach their God-given potential and enjoy the freedom and fullness of worship that God created them to experience. This unique program is packed with inspirational teaching on worship, vocal skill training and technique development for singers at any level and every possible role within the vocal ministry of a local church. WorshipVoice is taught by Scott and Vonda Dyer. Scott was on staff at Willow Creek for 14 years prior to coming to Texas, and Vonda was the Director of Vocal Ministries at Willow for the last 6 years of their time there. Both Scott and Vonda led the vocal track at the Willow Creek Arts Conference for 10 years, and have taught singers in churches all over the world. Together, they have 30 years experience teaching private voice, and Vondas students have included Word recording artists BarlowGirl. WorshipVoice teaches worship values and vocal skills WorshipVoice starts Friday evening and concludes on Saturday afternoon Friday Evening: Session 1 The Heart of Vocal Ministry (7:00 PM – 9:00 PM) This special teaching and worship session kicks off the workshop by focusing on the core values of vocal ministry that should be present in every church. You’ll start by learning about the heart of worship -- what it is, the role of artists in leading worship, and the high calling of a worship leader (everyone!). You’ll then explore the essential values of vocal ministry in worship like authenticity, character, discipleship, humility, stewardship, creativity, passion and others. You’ll walk away from this session inspired and with a clear understanding of and deep vision for these critical qualities and their contribution to a powerful worship ministry. Saturday Morning: Sessions 2 and 3 Taking the Lid Off: Fulfilling Your Full Vocal Potential Vocal Technique Parts 1 and 2 (9:00 AM – 11:30 AM) Session 2 kicks off the technique portion of the Worship Voice Workshop by teaching you foundational vocal techniques that you won’t learn anywhere else. The goal of these sessions is to provide you as singers and worship leaders the tools to achieve vocal freedom, and to help you reach your God-given potential, whatever that is and whatever leve. Saturday Afternoon: Session 4 Style and Communication: Keys to Mastering the Language of Culture (1:00 PM – 3:00 PM) This session is designed to help you understand the nuances of pop/contemporary music, so you can incorporate them into your own singing style. This will help you speak the language of the culture you are trying to reach. This session will also focus on visual communication by helping you overcome common barriers to communicating well, and understand the keys to good communication in a church or worship setting. Learn how to make your choir sound twice its size! The workshop includes a powerful session on group singing, where you’ll experience the dynamics and learn the techniques of building a blend, style, and overall bigness of the sound.
