Dear NBAN Community, Since the announcement of our Instagram #LumiaMacro winner, we have received your feedback and will take it into consideration for future contests. Firstly, we regret that our decision has upset some of you but hope you also understand our point of view. While the winning photo was taken on a DSLR, the reason we thought it was a brilliant shot was because it was taken with the right timing, lighting, and composition – none of which had anything to do with the camera. We hope you understand that we aim to share the Lumia love with as many people as possible and therefore opened the competition up to more than just Lumia photographers. Wouldn’t you agree that if more people knew what Lumia cameras are capable of then they would also #switch? For August we are limiting the competition to phone photography only. While some of you claim that we have made decisions against Lumias, this is quite the opposite. We know that our Lumia photographers have the best talents and tools and therefore we have faith that you will continue to win these competitions. We think that life is always better when it is more challenging and that you learn more when you are up against more. Hence, we know that the added wider community of phone photographers will be beneficial to you all in the long run and urge you not to see it as a threat. We believe that your creativity will continue to win above all else and hope that you see this too. Finally, we think it’s great that a brilliant photographer such as Fabio now has a Lumia 1020 by his side. It would be great to share the Lumia love and we would be grateful if you could continue to be supportive of his shot, despite it not coming from a Lumia. We were aware that the winning shot was not taken on a Lumia from the very start, therefore please do not assume that Fabio tried to convince us otherwise. The competition Terms and Conditions were published and therefore we did have to stick with it in the end. We truly apologise for any confusion caused and promise to work on this in the future.
