Hello everyone! I hope you all are doing well. Our day was fantastic! One of the best days of my life actually! I cant even put into words what this day has meant to me! I spent all of Wednesday cooking. Eli, Aubri, and Lena helped me make pies and potato salad! While I was finishing up for the night, Eli and Aubri took turns wheeling Lena around in her wheelchair. They all thought it was hilarious and it was very entertaining for me! I woke up the yesterday morning to finish cooking and got more help from them. I absolutely loved all the help, even though the kitchen was a disaster area! We went through about 5 eggs between Eli and Aubri cracking them. Aubri was amazed at what came out of the eggs. Lena helped me with the hand mixer and giggled like crazy when it would vibrate her hand. While I finished cooking and getting my amazing family their plates of food ready, (why not go the extra mile and make them their plates, they are just awesome and deserve it) they watched the parade and played wipe out on the wii. I got Lenas food blended up and we sat down to eat. My husband surprised us with the movie Planes to watch while eating which Eli was so happy about! After eating my boys were kind enough to get the food put away and pick up some then we watched some cartoons and relaxed for a bit. Lena ended up eating more food today than she has ever eaten! She ended up eating about 7 pieces of ham, two scoops of mashed potatoes, 2 scoops of greenbean casserole, and two scoops of stuffing. She ate two whole bowls of blended food! Then she ate about 1 scoop of chocolate lasagna and 1 scoop of pumpkin pie! All while drinking at least one bottle I between each meal! She was so stuffed and happy! I literally cried a few times today but it was all happy tears! This is the first time it has ever felt like a real thanksgiving for me. This is something I have waited over three years for! Being able to cook one meal that my entire family can eat is an amazing feeling! Lena loved it all and was very vocal about it. She was talking and clapping all day! She didnt throw up Or gag at all. I was super worried with giving her ham because she has never had it before. I was worried with the stuffing too but she still loved her food! This opens a lot of doors for Lena now! Now I know that I can turn almost any of our meals into meals Lena can eat. Im just blown away at how well Lena has adjusted to fresh regular foods. I couldnt be more proud of her! Its really hard to put into words how I feel right now. I have been scared for so long now about Lenas food intake and her weight gain. Constantly worried she would need a tube. While I know there will be that possibility for a long time, I finally feel content and for the first time I think she can do this without one. It is nice to know I can make a dinner that big by myself. Made me feel grown up. These next few days will be relaxing days I hope. Eli starts back school on Monday so I want to spend lots of time having fun and relaxing. We are hoping to go to this winter park. Its a new thing in Arkansas where they turned the water park into a winter park. They have real snow, even though its not snowing. You can sled, have snowball fights, cook smores, and other fun winter stuff. Im hoping its not too cold this weekend and we can go for a bit. Its really really cheap and playing in the snow is something Lena and Aubri have never gotten to do so we need to change that and make some memories! Please keep Lena in your prayers. Pray she has a break from her seizures and that her appetite stays this big! Thank you all so much for all your love and support! You warm my heart and make us feel so loved! We are so blessed to have you in our lives! Thank you for taking time out of your busy days to spend with us! We love yall so much! Im sorry this is so long. Lots going on and I have been working non stop for days so finding time to update wasnt easy. Lena just fell asleep so Im hoping to get some rest before she wakes up. God bless you all!
