Hello friends, How are you all? My braces are due to be picked up next Wednesday, and it really cannot come fast enough! Im so excited and pray that it will reduce my joint pain significantly. I had another infusion at the day oncology centre yesterday, and as per usual set up my crafty corner as my nurse Jess calls it. I was there for 2.5 hours, so I painted some poppies on my nails and had attached the photos. Unfortunately, despite being hooked up to feeds, I had a bad hypo whilst I was there. My sugars dropped for 2.3 mmol, and it took a whole heap of dextrose through my port to get them slightly higher. Jess is contacting professor Hebbard to request 2 liters of Hartmanns solution through my port per week, as opposed to 1L of saline. She also asked him to write up an indefinite order for zofran, Panadol and tropisatron (sp?), so if needed I can have those IV whilst Im there. After the infusion, I caught a taxi to my GP appointment, and collected some script and three referrals to doctors whom Dr Potter has briefed on my condition. She is really hoping to get a solid diagnosis, because my private health insurance providers are being silly buggers and playing games with my allowances. Unfortunately, the hypo really wiped me out, and I felt the effects for most of the night. It was incredibly frustrating, because I was constantly dizzy, nauseas and my pain levels were severely elevated. Please pray that the pain settles, and that Im able to see the new doctors quickly. Please also say a quick prayer for my friend and chef, Shayne, who wasnt able to make it into college today. On the positive side, its beautiful and sunny here in Melbourne today :) I hope youre all having wonderful days wherever you are :) xx Li
