Hello training class members at My Pet Guardians, Dog Day Care. Youve heard us talking in class about trigger stacking; this short video explains how trigger stacking can happen when stressful events happen close together in time. It also happens when a number of triggers appear right at the same time, for example your dog might be able to stay under threshold with just a strange dog approaching but not too close, but if your dog is also anxious about cars and a car goes past at the same time that the strange dog approaches, that might send your dog over threshold. Its an important thing to stay aware of when youre out walking with your dog, and it can happen in the home too, take the vacuum cleaner and someone knocking at the door as examples, these two events may be manageable for your dog if they occur separately, but if they happened at the same time it might be too stressful and result in reactive behaviour such as whining, panting or persistent barking,
