Help With Words of ENCOURAGEMENT to a Mom needing support. Not sure if this is the right way to do this but can you please ask the group for help for me? I am a single mom to 19yo Aspie, 12yo ADD, and 8yo ADHD/ODD kids. I am at wits end w/my 8yo. Meds are adderall in the morning, Citalopram and guanfacine in the evening. At school he excels, gifted classes, gets along well, teacher thinks hes awesome. At home hes noncompliant, lies, writes on walls, destroys his room, kicks walls, gets into everything and lies about it. When asked to do something/ reminded/ scolded, he says hes stupid or cant do the right thing, that I hate him. I spent the day in tears because it never ends. Weve tried counseling and he refuses to participate. His psych has changed meds from mirtazepine to clonidine to guanfacine and now added citalapram. Im about to change drs. Am I the only one who feels this hopeless? Some days I dont like my kid and that breaks my heart.
