Help care for Elderly & Disabled without close family or friends The Holidays are rapidly approaching! SWTDD/SWAAAD is reaching out to communities and churches in the area to help provide Christmas gifts for clients of the Public Guardianship Program. The majority of these disabled elderly clients receive no income other than Social Security or Supplemental Security payments. Many live in nursing homes, and a few live in their own apartments. We would like to make sure that all 13 clients receive a Christmas gift this year. Susan Unger, Public Conservator, will shop, wrap and deliver for anyone who would like to make a donation toward gifts for our PG clients. Or, if a person or group would like to sponsor an individual, she will provide information about an appropriate gift for that special client. In prior years, churches and civic groups have generously sponsored a client from their county or town. Contact Susan Unger at 731-668-6405 or at [email protected] if you would like to help make Christmas a happier time for these individuals, or if you are interested in hearing more about the Public Guardianship for the Elderly Program. Susan is available to speak to civic or church groups about the guardianship services provided to Tennessees disabled elderly citizens through this program.
