Here are 6 ways to light the dying spark of mid-Ramadan: 1. Renew your intention: At this point in time, our intention begins to weaken and blur out from our sight. So it’s necessary to review them. Rethink about your goals of Ramadan: why you want to do this and for whose sake. 2. Walk with End in mind: Everyday, wake up and go to sleep thinking of the amazing accomplishment and happy feeling you would get on the day of Eid knowing that by the grace of Allah, you have made good use of this month. Think of the happiness you would attain and the feeling of closeness to the One who loves you more than anyone in this world. Think how happy you are going to feel. Now compare this feeling to that of guilt and sadness if you slack in your goals and end up wasting this Ramadan. You would have lost another beautiful opportunity and who can assure you that you may get the next Ramadan to accomplish these goals? 3. Don’t overburden yourself: Most of the time, what we do is make goals that are too big and unrealistic in nature for Ramadan. At the beginning of the month, we start pushing in everything into every part of the day not wanting to waste a single minute. This results in unwanted draining of energy, making our enthusiasm fade as days pass. It’s important that we don’t overburden our days and give some rest to our body which will help us to re-energize ourselves. 4. Make Realistic and Long term Goals: Keep in mind what your days are going to be like. For those of you who need to attend school or go to work or even the homemakers, it’s important that you make goals that are realistic in nature and can be achieved in the limited time that you may have without overburdening yourself. If you have a vision of accomplishing 5 things and at the end of the day, you are unable to give your 100% to each one of them and are just rushing through it in the end, it’s only going to be a chore and will not help you spiritually. So, cut down on your goals.Instead of 5, stick to 2 but give it your 100%. Your goals should not end with Ramadan but rather, they should become intertwined with your lifestyle even after Ramadan. For ex., reading Quran everyday or offering Qiyam. 5. Plan each day as it comes: Today is not the same as yesterday. If today, I feel absolutely motivated to complete a task, it’s not necessary that I feel the same way tomorrow. We wake up each day with a different emotional level. Keep this in mind while deciding your tasks for the day. Plan each day as it comes with various duties of your everyday life. See what you can accomplish. The day when you have too many things to do or you wake up and don’t feel motivated at all, just slow down a bit and reconsider your tasks for the day but don’t stop. The key here is not to have a Ramadan where you give 100% while completing 3-4 tasks today but you don’t do anything at all the next day. Cut down the tasks if needed but don’t let a day go by without accomplishing a smaller goal that will help you achieve your bigger one, that is to please Allah subhanahu wa taala. You can also plan different tasks to be completed every day so that your routine does not become monotonous. This way, you will also wake up feeling energized for a new task to be done that day. 6. Build your Support System: Two is better than one, three is better than two. Good company is better than being alone. Find a righteous companion who can help you stay on track and motivate you to do better each day. You can keep track on each other’s progress and push each other to stay consistent, helping you make the best use of this blessed month of Ramadan. So, renew your intention, revise your plan and motivate yourself to re-energize your dying enthusiasm during mid-Ramadan.Keep going, you’re almost there!
